The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has clarified that it has not received any payments from the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) for petrol. In a statement on October 31, Anthony Chiejina, the refinery’s communications chief, emphasized that there are no business dealings with IPMAN, thus it cannot be held accountable for any payments to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
This follows claims from IPMAN that its members are struggling to load petrol despite a N40 billion payment to NNPC. Chiejina countered that the refinery is fully stocked and capable of meeting national demand, urging IPMAN to make direct arrangements for access.
He also warned against unfounded media claims that could hinder economic progress under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, advocating for collaboration among industry stakeholders.
