Manchester United has dismissed manager Erik Ten Hag after two and a half years at the helm. The decision was communicated to the Dutchman on Monday morning, just hours after the team’s 2-1 loss to West Ham at the London Stadium.
Ruud van Nistelrooy, who became Ten Hag’s assistant last summer, has been appointed as the interim manager. Following the defeat, United finds itself in 14th place in the Premier League, having secured only three wins from their first nine matches, and currently sits 21st out of 36 teams in the Europa League standings.
