The social media platform X has suspended a new account belonging to Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei that posted messages in Hebrew, citing violations of its rules. This action came just hours after Khamenei addressed the recent Israeli missile attacks on Tehran, which included a message invoking divine support.
Before the suspension, Khamenei shared a Hebrew message stating, “In the name of Allah, the most merciful,” which he later reposted on his verified English account, Khamenei.ir, known for its significant following of over one million. This isn’t the first time Khamenei has faced social media restrictions; Meta previously removed his accounts on Facebook and Instagram due to his support for Hamas following the October 7 attacks on Israel.
The suspension coincided with Israel’s recent airstrikes targeting Iranian missile manufacturing facilities and other military capabilities, which resulted in the deaths of four Iranian soldiers and one civilian. In light of these events, Khamenei emphasized that Iran does not seek war but will fiercely defend its sovereignty. He urged the formation of a global coalition—political, economic, and, if necessary, military—to counter what he described as the aggressive actions of the “Zionist regime” and its war crimes.
Khamenei’s statements highlight the escalating tensions in the region and Iran’s call for solidarity among nations against perceived threats.
