Residents of Imo State adhered to the sit-at-home order issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Eastern Security Network (ESN) for a second day on Tuesday. A correspondent from Daily Trust reported that the Owerri metropolis and surrounding areas remained calm since the order was issued on Monday.
In response to the order, security agencies deployed armored vehicles and helicopters to maintain safety throughout the state. However, despite these efforts, residents continued to follow the IPOB/ESN directives.
Both private and commercial vehicles stayed off the roads, and federal and state employees did not report to work. Bank employees also joined in the stay-at-home action, while schools across the state remained closed.
