Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Saturday, October 19, that those who attempted to “assassinate me and my wife today made a bitter mistake” after a drone was launched toward his home in Caesarea, central Israel.
The Israeli military confirmed that the drone was launched from Lebanon, and the prime minister’s spokesperson reported that the attack had targeted Netanyahu’s home. Neither he nor his wife were present, and no one else was injured, according to his office.
Netanyahu attributed the attack to Hezbollah, whom he referred to as “agents of Iran,” and warned that they would “pay a heavy price.”
As of press time, Hezbollah has not claimed responsibility.
“This will not deter me and the state of Israel from continuing the war of revival against our enemies to ensure our security for generations,” Netanyahu said.
Following the killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, Netanyahu vowed that Israeli forces would “continue forward until the end.”
“We eliminated the master murderer Yahya Sinwar,” he declared. “I said we are in the war of resurrection, and we continue forward until the end.”
Netanyahu expressed pride in Israel’s soldiers and citizens, emphasizing that nothing would deter them from achieving victory.
When asked if anything could stop him, he responded, “No, nothing will deter us. We continue until victory.”
On Friday, White House national security communications adviser John Kirby suggested that Sinwar had been a key obstacle to achieving a ceasefire in the Gaza conflict, and his death had created an “inflection point” that could potentially accelerate efforts to wind down the war.
