Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, a House of Representatives member from Ideato North and South Federal Constituency in Imo State, has accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, of attempting to destroy the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Ugochinyere criticized Wike for engaging in what he called “childish and kindergarten politics,” which he believes PDP governors should intervene to stop.
Speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Friday, Ugochinyere said: “The direction PDP is heading and Wike’s role in working with APC, while insisting that the leadership of the party should remain despite having no legal right to do so, suggests they want to destroy the PDP. I hold some PDP governors and leaders accountable for failing to put an end to this childish politics. It’s pure child’s play.”
He continued, “How can we have a national Chairman and Secretary of a party who seem to align with the ruling party, yet no one challenges them? They’re going to court to remain in office while Wike and his G-5 group are working for APC but still fighting for control of PDP with us. Is this what democracy in Nigeria was built on? If Azikiwe and Awolowo were alive, would they allow these clowns to be part of any serious conversation?”
