Nigerian music star, Davido, also known as David Adeleke, is thrilled as he marks his 32nd birthday on Thursday. In a heartfelt post on X.com late Wednesday, the singer expressed his joy, saying, “Big 32 soon! Omo, God is good. Happy to be alive! My eyes have seen it all, but steady, my fans dey shout shekpe!”
In line with his tradition of giving back, Davido announced a ₦300m donation to support orphanages and a charity tackling drug abuse among Nigerian youth. Through his foundation, the David Adeleke Foundation (DAF), the artist reaffirmed his commitment to improving lives across Nigeria.
Centliv released a statement on Thursday, Davido shared, “As part of our continued mission to support underserved communities, DAF announces another impactful year of charitable giving. Since 2022, we’ve been dedicated to creating positive change, and this milestone only reminds us of the power of collective goodwill.”
The foundation has funded numerous charitable initiatives, contributing to hundreds of orphanages and organizations helping vulnerable individuals. This year’s ₦300m donation will focus on orphanages and programs aimed at addressing drug abuse among young people.
The statement further noted, “The donation will support orphanages and a charity that helps prevent youth drug abuse and addiction, continuing our commitment to grassroots projects and vulnerable communities.”
Davido’s generosity has been met with widespread admiration, with fans praising both his birthday and his ongoing charitable work. This is not the first time the singer has supported orphanages, having donated ₦300m to them earlier in February 2024.
