Ogun State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun Corps, arrested Ramoni Segun on Tuesday after his girlfriend, Adijat, allegedly died in his home.
Adijat had spent the night at Segun’s residence in Odoraboyejo Ojowo, Ijebu Igbo, and was reportedly suffering from severe stomach pains. She was found unresponsive and later confirmed dead on Tuesday morning.
According to a statement by the corps’ deputy commander, Tajudeen Bakare, the arrest followed a distress call from an anonymous source. The officers responded quickly and detained Segun for questioning.
The statement explained that Segun brought Adijat to his house on the evening of February 3rd, 2025. The next morning, a distress call reported that Adijat was found dead. Segun claimed she had been experiencing stomach pain overnight, which he believed led to her death.
Segun has been transferred to the Ijebu Igbo police division for further investigation. The deputy commander called on the public to come forward with any information related to the incident.
