Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Public Communications and Social Media, acting on behalf of Minister Nyesom Wike, has strongly criticized Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed.
Wike dismissed Mohammed as an “ineffectual being” and declared his 2027 presidential ambition as “dead on arrival.”
In a statement released on Monday, Olayinka accused Mohammed of hypocrisy and questioned his ability to lead the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum. He stated, “We are done with anyone like Bala Mohammed. We won’t support any ineffective individual with a doomed 2027 presidential bid.”
This statement followed comments from Mohammed, who criticized Wike for joining President Bola Tinubu’s APC government, accusing him of lacking integrity.
Olayinka responded by reminding Mohammed of his own political history, pointing out that Mohammed had previously accepted roles in ruling governments.
He noted, “Bala Mohammed left his ANPP Senate seat to become a minister under the PDP government of President Goodluck Jonathan. Now, he’s speaking out like a broken faucet.”
Olayinka concluded, “Had the APC offered him even a Special Assistant role in 2015, he would have accepted and defected.”
