Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has announced that his administration has successfully reduced the state’s infrastructure deficit by over 40% through various developmental initiatives.
Speaking in Osogbo on Thursday while receiving an official invitation to the Leadership Newspaper’s annual event, where he will be honored as ‘Governor of the Year’, Adeleke acknowledged the accomplishments but emphasized his commitment to doing more.
“I am not letting the praises distract me,” he said. “Although I’ve delivered a four-year task in under two years, I am driven to do even more because Osun has lagged in many areas.”
He continued, “Reducing the infrastructure deficit by over 40% is just the beginning. I aim to expand healthcare access beyond primary levels to include medium and tertiary care. While we’ve made significant strides in various sectors, the goal remains to accelerate infrastructural upgrades and enhance investments in human capital for the benefit of our people.”
Adeleke also praised the recognition from the newspaper, calling the award an endorsement of his administration’s work. He highlighted upcoming projects, including the remodelling of Osogbo Stadium to international standards, the dualisation of roads in Iwo and Ilesa, and ongoing progress on the flyover bridge in Ile-Ife.
“The year 2025 will see further expansions in governance for the people of Osun,” he added.
