Pep Guardiola and his wife, Cristina Serra, have announced their divorce after three decades of marriage. The split is described as amicable, stable, and friendly. Sources suggest that the couple’s extended periods of living apart due to Guardiola’s coaching roles in various countries played a significant part in their decision.
The two met in 1994 and married in 2014 near Barcelona. They have three children: Maria, 24, Marius, 22, and Valentina, 17.
While Guardiola resides in Manchester to fulfill his duties as manager, Serra has been based in Barcelona with their youngest daughter, Valentina. Serra, a Brazilian journalist, has been photographed alongside Guardiola on several occasions over the past year.
According to reports, the decision to end their marriage was made in December, with only their close friends and family initially aware of the situation. Loved ones have been asked not to disclose further details regarding the separation.
In 2019, Serra relocated to Manchester to work for her family’s fashion company, Serra Claret.
In November, Guardiola signed a new two-year contract with Manchester City, extending his stay at the club until 2027, despite speculation that he might leave at the end of his previous contract.
