The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has begun its recruitment exercise, seeking to fill 3,927 positions in the Superintendent, Inspector, and Customs Assistant cadres. Applications opened on Friday, December 27, 2024, and will close on January 2, 2025.
This initiative aligns with efforts to boost the NCS workforce, improve trade facilitation, and support Nigeria’s economic recovery.
Eligibility Requirements
- Superintendent Cadre: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Inspectorate Cadre: National Diploma (ND) or Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE).
- Customs Assistant Cadre: O’Level results (WAEC or NECO).
Applicants must also be physically and mentally fit, supported by a medical fitness certificate from a recognized government hospital.

The NCS emphasized that the recruitment process is entirely free.
- “Our process is FREE and FAIR. Anyone demanding payment is a scammer,” the NCS warned.

The announcement followed the NCS’s 61st quarterly board meeting on December 18, 2024, in Abuja. This recruitment aligns with President Tinubu’s 2025 “Budget of Restoration,” aiming to achieve economic revitalization.
