Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has called on President Bola Tinubu to reconsider unpopular economic policies, urging the administration to prioritize the people’s grievances.
Speaking during a Christmas Day event in Bauchi on Thursday, December 26, Governor Mohammed emphasized the importance of humility and listening to citizens.
“We urge the presidency and federal government to adapt their approach. When policies are not well-received, leaders should engage with the people rather than insist on their way. This is not an oligarchy or military rule,” he stated.
The governor called for unity across political lines to tackle the challenges Nigerians face.
“There’s too much hardship. We must collaborate at all levels of government to bring relief to Nigerians. This isn’t about pride or ego; if I’m told the situation worsened under my leadership, I’ll make changes. The presidency must do the same,” he added.
Governor Mohammed’s comments follow mounting criticism of economic policies under the Tinubu administration, which many argue have deepened Nigeria’s economic woes.
