Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman is one of five nominees for the 2024 CAF Men’s Player of the Year award.
CAF revealed the final contenders on Thursday night, December 12.
The other nominees are Simon Adingra, Serhou Guirassy, Achraf Hakimi, and Ronwen Williams.
Lookman will aim to follow in the footsteps of his international teammate Victor Osimhen, who won the award last year.
The 27-year-old netted three goals and provided one assist in seven appearances for the Super Eagles at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
Lookman also scored a historic hat-trick for Atalanta in the UEFA Europa League final.
In excellent form, Lookman has contributed 11 goals and five assists in 18 matches across all competitions this season. He was also named man of the match in Atalanta’s Champions League clash with Real Madrid, helping his team push for the Serie A title.
The CAF Awards ceremony will take place in Marrakech, Morocco on Monday, December 16.
