Suspected bandits launched a violent attack on Kakin Dawa village, located within the Gidan Goga district of Maradun Local Government Area in Zamfara State.
Sources informed DAILY POST that the assailants took over 50 women and children during the raid.
A local resident shared that the gunmen struck the village at around 1:30 am on Sunday, armed with advanced weaponry and moving from house to house.
“Everyone began fleeing in panic because the armed bandits had previously targeted our village. Later, we discovered that over 50 of our women had been abducted,” the resident told DAILY POST.
The source further explained that the victims of the abductions included both young girls and married women.
The community member urgently called on both the federal and Zamfara State governments to send additional military and security personnel to the area to confront the criminals.
As of the time of filing this report, attempts to reach the Zamfara State police command spokesperson, ASP Yazid Abubakar, for a comment were unsuccessful.
