A couple had a miraculous escape from death in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, after a container fell onto their parked car. The incident occurred on Thursday, November 28, 2024, near the Ogbomoso High School area.
According to reports from Ogbomoso Insight, the couple had just parked their vehicle and stepped out to buy some items when the unfortunate accident took place. Eyewitnesses described it as a “narrow escape” as the container from an oncoming trailer crashed onto their car moments after they left it.
“It was a close call,” said one eyewitness. “The couple had just gotten out to buy some things when the container fell. Thankfully, no one was inside the car at the time.”
The trailer, with registration number Nasarawa JZ 101 ZA, was reportedly attempting to avoid a head-on collision with a bus traveling in the opposite direction. The bus driver, distracted by his mobile phone, lost focus, causing the trailer driver to swerve and slip into a ditch, resulting in the container falling onto the parked car.
The couple was fortunate to escape unharmed, and no other individuals were involved in the incident.
