Oseloka Obaze, the 2023 campaign manager for the Obi-Datti Organisation, has responded to Doyin Okupe’s recent criticism of Peter Obi’s “consumption to production” economic model. In a post on X, Obaze dismissed Okupe’s claims as “balderdash” and provided proof to challenge the statement.
Obaze expressed his disappointment with Okupe, who previously served as the Director-General of Obi’s presidential campaign in 2023. He pointed out that Okupe played a significant role in crafting and finalizing the policy document that outlined Obi’s vision for transforming Nigeria’s economy from a consumption-driven model to one focused on production.
Obaze sarcastically remarked, “Perhaps Okupe has a touch of amnesia. Well, he should know, he is a Medical Doctor!” This response comes after Okupe accused Obi’s campaign rhetoric of lacking depth and concrete action plans, stirring controversy among Obi’s supporters.
The ongoing exchange has further fueled debates over the economic policies and direction of the Labour Party.
