Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has accused oil cabals in Nigeria and international oil companies (IOCs) of sabotaging the operations of private refineries like Dangote Petroleum Refinery.
Speaking at the November 2024 Abuja Special Holy Ghost service, Adeboye urged Nigerians to pray for divine intervention against oil marketers deliberately hindering the refinery’s success. He highlighted past incidents of sabotage targeting Nigeria’s four state-owned refineries, which have failed despite billions in investments.
Adeboye praised Aliko Dangote for stepping in to build a refinery after multiple failed attempts to revive the public refineries, calling Dangote’s initiative an answer to Nigeria’s fuel import dependency.
He said, “Despite having four refineries, we still import fuel. But God inspired Dangote to build a refinery that works, and now there are forces trying to stop him so they can continue importing.”
