The Nigerian Government has honoured the late Abibat Mogaji, mother of President Bola Tinubu, by naming the ICT block at the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development in her memory.
At the unveiling ceremony in Abuja on Tuesday, Minister of Women Affairs Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim praised Mogaji as a strong advocate for women’s empowerment.
“We are gathered here to celebrate the remarkable values of gender inclusion, women’s empowerment, and humanitarian work of the late Chief Alhaja Abibat Mogaji, a resilient matriarch and champion for women,” said the Minister. “Her life exemplified an unwavering commitment to improving the lives of women and creating a compassionate society where no one is left behind.”
Sulaiman-Ibrahim emphasized that the renamed ICT block stands as a symbol of the country’s dedication to advancing women’s rights and honouring their contributions. “Our goal is to build a society where every woman and child can reach their full potential with dignity,” she added.
