A 15-year-old boy, Aditya Sharma, from Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, tragically passed away after undergoing a major surgery at a Delhi hospital to remove 56 metal objects from his stomach.
The foreign items, which included watch batteries, blades, nails, and other metal fragments, were discovered during medical examinations across several hospitals, leaving both his family and doctors in disbelief.
The ordeal began when Aditya experienced severe stomach pain and difficulty breathing, leading him to seek treatment at hospitals in Hathras, Jaipur, Aligarh, and Noida. Initially, an ultrasound revealed 19 objects in his stomach, but further scans later identified a total of 56 metal pieces.
After the surgery, Aditya’s condition worsened as his heart rate soared and his blood pressure plummeted, ultimately causing his death. His father, Sanchit Sharma, expressed deep sorrow and confusion over the mysterious case, pointing out that there were no visible signs of injury in Aditya’s mouth or throat to suggest accidental or intentional ingestion.
The tragic incident has left Aditya’s family, including his devastated younger sister, searching for answers. No statements have been made by Safdarjung Hospital regarding the case.
