Prince Harry’s confidential U.S. immigration files may soon be made public, following President-elect Trump’s vow not to protect him, accusing Harry of “betraying the Queen.” With Trump’s re-election, the Heritage Foundation’s push to access the records, which have been blocked by the Biden administration, now stands a better chance.
The controversy began after Harry admitted to using recreational drugs in his 2023 memoir, potentially making him ineligible for a visa. The Heritage Foundation has sued the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for failing to release his records, and the organization is now appealing a court ruling that kept them private.
Nile Gardiner of the Heritage Foundation believes that under the new administration, the records could be made public, sending a message about applying the law equally. Trump has previously said that Harry would be “on his own” if it came to a second term, after accusing him of betraying the Queen.
