Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Communication and Orientation, Sunday Dare, has firmly rejected claims of a “cabal” operating within the presidency, emphasizing that President Bola Tinubu is completely in charge of the nation’s governance.
During an appearance on Channels TV, Dare explained that the term “cabal” has been misused to describe key individuals who hold important positions and regularly brief the president. These individuals, he said, are essential advisors who provide critical information to aid decision-making processes.
Dare elaborated, “The term ‘cabal’ has been distorted. The people referred to as the so-called cabal are those managing key sectors of the economy. They’re advisors who bring vital data to the president, ensuring he’s informed and making the right decisions. For example, the Minister of Finance regularly meets with the president to present economic indicators, as this is crucial for national planning.”
He further asserted that Tinubu has consistently demonstrated strong leadership, pointing to his decisive action in cancelling the Central Bank’s proposed cybersecurity tax.
“The president is firmly in charge,” Dare said. “He has shown this from day one, as seen when he took swift action to cancel the CBN cybersecurity tax based on the facts at hand.”
