President Bola Tinubu has reiterated his commitment to eliminating terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping in Nigeria, assuring that these challenges will soon be a thing of the past.
Speaking through a representative at the 9th convocation ceremony of the Federal University, Dutsinma, in Katsina, the President emphasized his administration’s determination to tackle insecurity directly. He stressed that addressing these issues is a collective responsibility and urged citizens to provide essential information to security forces. Tinubu was represented by Professor Abdulkarim Mohammed, Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa State, who called on Nigerians to aid government efforts by reporting any suspicious activities.
Additionally, Tinubu encouraged young people to take advantage of a loan scheme that has already distributed over N70 billion to support their educational and entrepreneurial endeavors. He affirmed that governance is a shared responsibility, stating, “Governance is not just about the presidency or those in positions of power; it’s about Nigeria and its people, who can drive positive change in the country.”
During the ceremony, Professor Armaya’u Bichi, Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Dutsinma, noted that insecurity remains a significant challenge for the institution. The university celebrated the graduation of 297 postgraduate students, including 18 Ph.D. graduates, 226 Master’s degree holders, and 53 recipients of professional diplomas.
Representing Katsina Governor Dikko Umar Radda, Secretary to the State Government Abdullahi Garba Faskari highlighted the state’s ongoing efforts to improve access to quality education, emphasizing significant investments aimed at enhancing the educational landscape.
