A 28-year-old woman, Ogunlana Yemisi, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police for allegedly assaulting her husband, Idowu Adebowale, 31, and severing his manhood with a sharp object.
The police spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, shared the news in a statement to reporters on Monday, October 21, 2024.
Adebowale reportedly approached the police on Monday, claiming that his wife attacked him with a sharp object around 4:30 AM on October 15 during a minor dispute. He showed the officers the severe injury on his Manhood, which he attributed to his wife’s actions.
“Upon receiving the report, detectives promptly visited the location and arrested the suspect,” the PPRO stated. “The wife denied the allegations during questioning. However, due to the seriousness of the injury and the delay in seeking medical assistance, he was given a medical form and advised to visit the hospital.”
The suspect is currently in custody, and the case will be forwarded to the SCID in Abeokuta for further investigation.
“This matter will undergo a thorough investigation, as it appears to be a case of uncontrollable anger leading to domestic violence,” Odutola added.
